Added to my previous note, we shall not be taking on any new clients. Existing oines will still have their work advertised but I am afraid I cannot add any more to the list.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The opinions expressed by authors on this site are not necessarily those of the owners. We believe in free speech however, and reserve the right to upload/publish here, what they have to say even when we disagree.

The bar on the left, isn't just for leaning against, but is there for you, our readers, to follow up what they have seen on here first. The "Home" page is the same as any front page of a paper magazine and will give hints as to what there is to read inside. For example, how insane was Van Goch? A full story about that coming shortly by a psychologist, obviously for art lovers and those interested in mental conditions.

On the "Features" page you will find all kinds of short funnies, all allegedly true, but we leave it to you, the reader to decide.

"Grumble Corner" ... use this extensively within the rules, no racism, religious intolerance or being abusive about any individual or group. For now, email your grumbles to tangleddreams.org, put "Grumble Corner" in your subject line. In the future, we hope to have a proper forum.

Our "Comment" section is really for your thoughts about books you have read, films you have seen, and so on. It is also where we shall put forward to you books that we think are really first class and worth buying.

In other words, this site will offer you the full range of what there is to read, see and do. The difference between us and a paper magazine, is that we are not tied down as in space. Paper limits the amount of material that can be covered and often really good writing gets pushed aside for the sensational.  We won't be pushing quality work aside, we have plenty of space to publish it.

ANNOUNCEMENT
Due to lack of interest this Competition has had to be abandoned. Those who have already submitted stories
will get their entry fee refuneded. I have a complete list.

Sunrise or sunset?

Next year 2009 we are hoping to have some photographs by a young photographer called Owen Rhys.

This site was constructed using Speech Recognition, Dragon Naturally Speaking Version 10. We urge even those who are not expert typists to look at www.speechempoweredcomputing.co.uk. Several of our clients and all but one of our staff using Speech Recognition to do most of their work. We cannot recommend it strongly enough.

ORDER NOW, make her happy for Christmas 2009

Quality gem-set jewelry in sterling silver with a difference.  Visit our online shop at  BoothandBooth to see the largest UK collection of semi-precious jewelery.  Excellent value for the money and free UK delivery.

Tangled Dreams gives their personal recommendation to BoothandBooth.  Delightful to deal with and provide delightful jewelry for all occasions.

We have a new novel by Judi Tomos, one of our regulars. It is called "Gaia's Children."  Without a doubt, it is one of most imaginative books we have come across for quite while. Although very different to Tolkein's "Lord of The Rings," or anything Terry Pratchett may have produced, it creates a very powerful picture of Good eventually triumphing over Evil.

Click the "Gaia's Children" button at the left to read.  When you do, sublinks will appear beneath the button.  W
e have provided the extra links because we feel very strongly about this novel.

This book has roped in 10,000 hits for every page uploaded within the last six weeks.

There is a very interesting book for the general reader by Dr. Richard S. Broughton. It is called "A CONTROVERSIAL SCIENCE" and is available from Amazon. We strongly recommend it. It is an excellent read, let alone anything else. It will certainly raise many questions in your mind, as well as answering a large number.  GO OUT AND BUY IT! Try Amazon.

The Rhine Institute has been hit hard by the credit squeeze.  Its investments are not bringing sufficient funds to enable it to continue it valuable research. Please contact Rhine at Duke University, NC, USA if you can help.

TIPS
If a shoe pinches, take it off.  This method will bring instant relief.

If you burn a saucepan, take a cork, dip it in soot, and scour the saucepan thoroughly.   You may do this as many times as you wish, it will make no difference to the saucepan or the soot.

Hits have now topped 890,000.

THOUGHT for the Day
When you see someone in the street whom you know slightly or even if you don't; if they aren't smiling or even if they look a little down, give them one of your smiles.  You have an endless supply.

One of the strange things about being ill is that there are occasions when one is too ill to make the trip to hospital. Does that mean one is already dead I wonder?

NOTE

Obviously we wish to keep you, the faithful, coming back, so teasing you a little, we wish to announce that a first class professional landscape artist Marjorie Moreton has agreed to exhibit some of her work on our site. She may be known to some older users for she is now ninety eight -- but still painting!!!!!!!  -- but has not been hung in a major gallery for some twenty years. She produces flower pictures too, and it will be a flower we upload first together with a painting done in the South of France. So please keep you eyes on the Gallery whether you are a regular or a newcomer.

REPORT ON RESPONSES TO EXTRACTS FROM NOVELS ON THE SITE

"If I Were A Carpenter," 17,995 hits in total, 201 emails inquiries about possible publication.

Update on the above: It is just possible that this novel has passed all the hurdles and will be published.  If it is we further hope it will be made into a film as it would make an excellent film.  Make sure you have a large box of tissues available though.

"A Baker's Dozen For Bardo," 14,000 hits as of today and email responses have risen to over a hundred.  We feel this shows that our faith in the novel is right.  It is as good as we believe it to be.

We would really like to see Mr. Robat ap Phisiart's novel hit the high spot.  It is beautifully written, reminiscent of Thomas's "Under Milkwood" for the majesty of its language, and just as accessible.  Do read the extract and let us know.

Robat ap Phisiart has been called a genius.  Don't let that put you off folks.  His work is a bloody good read as well as being beautiful writing.

"Get Away/Quantum Shift," 27,8900 hits, 208 emails about publication, 45 particularly delighted with the Psychic Thriller element.

If you are into any kind of Paranormal experiences, then this is very much for you.  Being a novel, the author has given his main character some very exciting, but plausible abilities.  Peter Bradbury is a member of The World Parapsychology Association and has used actual experiments carried on by working members of that prominent body, the masters in that field of knowledge about the brain.  Obviously for the tale, he has exaggerated Frank Randal's talents, and apart from those abilities, Mr. Randal follows the super spy James Bond in many other ways, but he does really need a "Q" to give him a box of tricks.  He has his own built in, so to speak.

To the extremist anything that aids their narrow aims is both expedient and necessary.  (Anon)

On this day in 40 BC an unknown Roman Senator is reported as having said, "Should the Gauls ever become civilised, I can see they might make good civil servants, but they will never be able to cook properly."

Well France, got any comments?

Submission Details

Full length novels submitted to us, will receive every attention. If we take you on then we will also earmark monies to assist with the promotion of said novel after publication, working in conjunction with the publisher's wishes.

We shall try to obtain the best deal for you.  There is no reading fee and our fee is payable only when the book is in the shops and selling, the fee will be 17% for the UK and 20% for The Commonwealth, USA and the rest of the world.  All other rights will be negotiated separately on behalf of the author.

As on our earlier site, we hope to be uploading short stories and articles on any every subject conceivable.  For example, this one:

Over head by a relative of this site's owners when she was on a trip to New York by ship and about 100 miles out.  They were on the Promenade deck.

"Are you traveling all the way?"  One said, to which the other replied with great seriousness.

"Yes, I am.  Are you?"

Our relative just stood there stunned, how does one get off a massive line in the middle of the Atlantic?  Sorry to disappoint you all but these remarks were not made by George Bush, but they were made by two Texans who clearly new each other but had little idea about large ships and how they travel.
Angriaphobia:  being angry at almost everything and everyone.

Xenophobia: The Greeks invented the word to mean an illogical, hatred of foreigners. Seems wierd from the people who produced Socrates.

March: Comes in like a lamb, goes out like a lion. So around March 31st watch out some very hungry and very large cats.

A Word from Tangled Dreams
We have to say that at this moment in time we have a large number of manuscripts already in. So if you submit something, you may have to wait quite a while before we can give you any kind of an answer. The market is far from good at the moment, many publishers are not taking any new authors at all. But by uploading three or four chapters to our web site and then counting the hits, we are able to give an editor some idea of whether a book is actually attracting attention. Our figures may not convince them but they do help.

Email us first with a synopsis of your book and then we will ask for the first three or four chapters in hardcopy. We cannot accept plays or poetry [except for inclusion on the magazine section of the site].
